With over 3 Million listeners and an annual music awards show,Metro Fm is far by  no doubt a modern radio station in the SABC which has the cream of crop presenters as of April 2017.

Although the  station has saw a drop in its average daily and weekly listeners the blame is sometimes being attributed to its former well known presenters leaving the station and also the newly introduced 90% local music airplay.

Currently the station has reshuffled and hired new presenters,Among other talented and born to radio Dj's  the station has capitalized on is Mo Flava(former YFM Dj),DJ Fresh(former 5Fm Dj),Dineo Ranaka (former YFM Dj) the list goes on.

In terms of listeners,the station is competing with Ukhozi FM(broadcasted in Zulu language) which has over 5 Million listeners.
